Back on the (back)water

You can't keep Captaincol and First-mehmsahib Sue off the water for long, so today we left Cochin and drove to Allepy to climb aboard a houseboat ( the Dharma Jyothi) for 24 hrs cruising the beautiful Kerala Backwaters. When I say drove, obviously I mean Wilson, our driver for the next four days, drove us in a lovely white Ambassador.



As per usual we had the boat to ourselves, plus a couple of crew to point us in the right direction and provide an almost non-stop supply of vittals.

Closely followed by tea and tiffin..



It's hard to describe the beauty of the sunset - here it is...










We're moored up for the night, bows-to to a couple of palm trees by a small village. Just relaxing with a beer now and steeling ourselves for dinner - we've already stopped off this afternoon to buy some giant tiger prawns- I new we'd see a tiger sooner or later!
