Barli test match special

We're back on the Maharaji trail with a two night stay at the wonderful Fort Barli, built in 1675. Our room is about the size of half a football pitch.

And for two days we are the only guests here, taking advantage of the wonderful fort and it's facilities.

We got to ride around the village on a bullock cart "bone shaker "- not recommended for anyone with a delicate disposition. We took our driver 'Prince' Harry with us.

We had a chance to reenact the events of the last test match with a few of the local lads, with yours truly playing the Kevin Peterson role.

On the second night we were treated to a special dinner in the spectacular Queens apartment, sitting on traditional cushions.

It's another magical place to stay, which time seems to have left untouched.

Our host, Anirudh.

  1. Beautiful buildings. Did the boys call you Uncle when you were playing cricket? They usually do elderly Europeans. (Remember the Marigold Hotel?).
