We stayed at a nice homestay close to the gate entrance with a great view..
We were up at the crack to attempt to get on the boat trip in the Park. Actually Wilson had parked the car in the queue by the gate at 1.00 am- we just rolled up at 6.00 am. Once the gates opened there was a mad race with about 20 tuctucs to reach the ticket office by the lake, about 3 km from the main gate.
When we got to the car park everyone then ran 400 yds to join the scrum at the "queue" to get a ticket. Thanks to Wilson, who could have been a great scrum-half, we were successful and got on the 7.30 boat trip .
The tigers, as usual, all went into hiding when they saw us coming but we spotted some wild boar, Indian Goara (like bison), samba deer, lots of birds and an otter.
And a black monkey on the way out.
After breakfast we set out for a 4 hr drive to Munnar, an old English hill station and tea plantation at about 6000 ft elevation.
And the Mehmsahib picked a few PG tips on the way.
Wilson took us to another nice home stay for our last night in India.
